Tehran, IRNA – The Director General of the International Customs Cooperation Office of Iran said that the value of non-oil trade between Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached $5,38 billion in the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2021 – February 20, 2022)

Hossein Kakhki said on Monday that based on the mentioned data, the value of trade shows a 48 percent increase, as compared to the same period of time last year.

According to him, over the 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year, Iran's exports to the Eurasian Economic Union member-states increased by more than $1,84 billion, indicating a 15 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The Director General of the International Customs Cooperation Office of Iran in his remarks said that Russia and Armenia were the top export destinations among five EEU member-countries during the period with $547 million and $278 million, respectively.

Iran and Eurasian Economic Union reached a free trade agreement in October 2018 based on which about 862 commodity items were subjected to preferential tariffs.

Iran and the EEU have listed 862 types of commodities in their three-year provisional trade agreement. As per the deal, Iran will enjoy easier export terms and lower customs duties on 502 items and the same goes for 360 items from the EEU member countries.
